Today I spent an awesome day in Downtown Truckee hanging out with Randy Blasques of Blasques Fine Arts (http://www.networkedblogs.com/blog/blasquez_fine_art). She was kind enough to show us some of the downtown area, give a tour of her new up and coming studio, and let me drop off pieces to be featured in her gallery(up dates to come when the gallery opens).
For those that haven't ventured to Truckee, I would highly recommend it. It is a quaint town just North of Tahoe. Normally this time of year it is rather cool with snow on the ground, and surrounded by snow capped mountains. This trip however, was rather warm, nearly mistakable for a an early summer day but gorgeous all the same.
As for the pieces that were dropped off. I will be privileged enough to feature pieces from three different collects in her gallery:
Discontinuity is a set of 3 pieces I made and entered into the AGASC (Art Glass Association of Southern California) exhibit and competition earlier in 2013. They afforded me the first place ribbon for Southern California Up and Coming Artist! So happy to be showing them in another gallery!
Spiral Vases come in all shapes and sizes. This particular set features an opaque white base color with overlaid transparent purple.
Hanging Vases. As with the Spiral Vases these come in all sorts of colors and shapes. This particular set features a spiral of deep transparent turquoise blue.
